Fatal Collision on National Highway-44 Claims One Life

Sonepat, April 26: A severe road accident occurred on National Highway-44 passing through Sonepat, Haryana, on Sunday morning, involving two trucks and a Fortuner car.

According to reports, a truck returning from Ghaziabad with Amul milk suffered a sudden flat tire, prompting the driver to halt the vehicle in the middle of the road. During this time, another truck and the Fortuner collided with the stationary truck. The impact was so intense that both trucks were severely damaged, and the front of the Fortuner was completely crushed.

One truck conductor died at the scene, while other drivers and crew members were rescued by the relief team after considerable effort. The injured were sent to a nearby hospital for primary treatment, where their condition is reported to be stable.

Following the accident, a long traffic jam formed on the route from Panipat to Delhi. Traffic police promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and began clearing the damaged vehicles to restore normal traffic flow.

Police officials stated that the incident occurred near the Sector-7 flyover on the Panipat-Delhi road, causing chaos and traffic disruption in the area. After removing the truck and Fortuner from the road, traffic was gradually normalized.

Authorities are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident. Local residents reported that the truck was stationary in the middle of the road when the other truck and Fortuner collided with it.

The police have informed the family of the deceased truck conductor, and inquiries are ongoing with the driver of the truck that was stationary to gather accurate information regarding the incident.
