Fire During Car Charging in Indore Claims Eight Lives

Indore, March 18: A tragic fire incident occurred in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, during the charging of an electric car, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals and leaving several others injured. The fire, which was reportedly caused by a short circuit, quickly escalated, engulfing the area.

The incident took place on Wednesday in the Brijeshwari Colony near Bengali Chauraha, where the car was being charged. Flames rapidly spread throughout the building, and gas cylinders stored inside the premises exploded one after another, causing part of the structure to collapse.

Witnesses reported that the fire and subsequent explosions disrupted the electricity supply, preventing digital locks on the rooms from functioning. As a result, those sleeping inside were unable to escape, leading to the fatalities. Several others suffered severe burns and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, calling it extremely painful. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of the departed souls and the swift recovery of the injured.
