Five Notorious Criminals Arrested After Encounter in Raebareli

Mumbai, March 25: In a significant operation, Raebareli police apprehended five notorious criminals following an encounter during a vehicle checking drive. The clashes occurred in two different police station areas, resulting in injuries to two of the suspects, who have been hospitalized.

According to police reports, the encounter took place in the Nasirabad and Bachhrawan areas while officers were conducting vehicle checks. Two gang members, Suraj and Marko, sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital, while three others—Manish, Pintu, and Aniket—were arrested. All five are believed to be part of an inter-district gang involved in robberies. Police recovered an EcoSport car, a motorcycle, a firearm, and cartridges from their possession.

ASP Sanjeev Kumar Sinha stated that during the checking operation in Nasirabad, police attempted to stop a suspicious Eco vehicle and motorcycle. The Eco vehicle fled towards Nasirabad, while the motorcycle riders fell off. As the suspects attempted to escape, they opened fire on the police, prompting a retaliatory response that injured Suraj. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.

The control room alerted other police stations in the district about the fleeing suspects, leading to heightened vigilance across the area. Subsequently, the criminals in the Eco vehicle were captured in Bachhrawan after another encounter.

ASP Sinha confirmed that cases have been registered against the accused, and investigations are ongoing to uncover their gang affiliations and criminal history.
