
Jammu Police continued its crackdown on illegal activities with a significant operation in the RS Pura area on Monday. Acting on credible information received during routine patrols near Peer Baba in Chohala, police raided the site and arrested six individuals involved in illegal gambling.
The arrested persons have been identified as Kamaljeet Singh, Suresh Kumar, Amandeep, Surjeet Kumar, Sunny Kumar, and Balwinder Kumar, all residents of Chohala in RS Pura, Jammu.
During the raid, authorities seized gambling stakes amounting to Rs 5,960 along with playing cards. The suspects have been booked under Section 13 of the Gambling Act, and further legal proceedings are underway.
This operation was conducted under the supervision of SHO Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar and the RS Pura police team, underscoring the department’s firm commitment to maintaining law and order.
Jammu Police reiterated its strict stance against gambling and other unlawful activities, warning that such offenses will be met with stringent action.
In a related development, on Sunday, Jammu Police’s South Zone achieved a major success in its ongoing drive against narcotics and illegal weapons. During routine patrolling near Dashmesh Nagar Park by the Satwari police station, a suspicious individual was apprehended close to MBS College.
The person, identified as Sanjay Mishra, son of Raju Mishra, residing at House No. 404, Jawahar Nagar, Narwal Pen, Satwari, Jammu district, was found carrying a large quantity of narcotics and a sharp weapon upon search.
Confiscated items include 975 tablets of Alprazolam 0.5 mg, 264 capsules comprising Dicyclomine, Tramadol HCL, and Acetaminophen, one sharp-edged weapon, and Rs 2,630 in cash.
These coordinated efforts reflect Jammu Police’s dedication to curbing illegal gambling, drug trafficking, and weapon possession to ensure community safety.
