Ujjain, June 5: Renowned playback singer Kailash Kher visited the holy city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Friday, where he paid his respects at the shrine of Baba Mahakal. He participated in the morning Bhasma Aarti and appeared deeply immersed in devotion after the darshan and worship of Baba Mahakal.
Kher expressed that coming to Mahakal’s abode feels like achieving the greatest goal of life. He emphasized that the divine calls those who are lost to guide them back to the right path. Celebrating the glory of Sanatan culture, Kher stated, “I bow to the people dedicated to the preservation of this sacred land and its eternal traditions. Being born on this earth is indeed a blessing.” He highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of Ujjain, referring to it as a living record and inscription of the universe and our life traditions.
He further remarked, “The Tropic of Cancer used to pass through here, but over time it shifted to Europe. The world has been running on Vikram Samvat since ancient times, yet India remains steadfast in its beliefs, thoughts, and traditions. Gradually, times are changing, and now it is India’s turn.”
Prior to this, on May 27, Kailash Kher visited the Badrinath Dham to seek blessings from Lord Vishnu and shared some smiling pictures from the pilgrimage on Instagram, wearing a Rudraksha necklace and a sandalwood tilak on his forehead, both symbols of devotion to Lord Shiva. The backdrop featured snow-capped mountains.
His post received a warm response from fans, many of whom found it soothing. Earlier, Kher had also visited Kedarnath Dham, where he sang his famous devotional song ‘Bam Lahiri’ in front of the temple and shared a video of the performance, captioning it, “Mahadev’s abode, all works fulfilled. Jai Jai Kedarnath.”
Recently, Kher has been in the spotlight for his new song ‘Jogi,’ dedicated to Adi Shankaracharya. He mentioned that the spiritual essence felt by saints and sages for centuries is also present in this music, and that Shankaracharya’s message continues to inspire people to walk the path of truth and righteousness.
