Kangana Ranaut on Sanatan Dharma and Entry Restrictions in Temples

Mumbai, March 18: The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has recently made a significant decision regarding the entry of non-Hindus into temples. According to the committee, entry will be prohibited for non-Sanatani individuals at several temples, including Kedarnath and Badrinath. Only those non-Hindus who submit a formal affidavit expressing their faith in Sanatan Dharma will be allowed to enter the temples.

Hemant Dwivedi, the president of the temple committee, cited actress Sara Ali Khan as an example. He mentioned that if a prominent figure like Sara Ali Khan visits Kedarnath, expresses her faith in Sanatan, and submits an affidavit, she will not be denied entry for darshan (viewing of the deity).

Sara Ali Khan frequently visits Kedarnath and developed a special connection with the place during the shooting of her first film, “Kedarnath,” in 2018.

On Wednesday, BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut spoke to reporters in the Parliament complex, stating that Sara should not have any difficulty in expressing her faith in Sanatan Dharma. If she wishes to visit Badrinath and Kedarnath, she should provide a written affidavit. Kangana emphasized that everyone present is a Sanatani, as they are connected to this tradition from birth. She explained that the term ‘Sanatan’ means having no beginning or end.

Kangana further stated that while other religions are relatively new, Sanatan is the ultimate truth, eternal and infinite. Therefore, she believes Sara should not feel apprehensive about submitting the affidavit. Additionally, Kangana commented on the behavior of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, describing it as inappropriate. She remarked, “He speaks in a confrontational manner. When someone is giving an interview, he uses inappropriate words that make others feel very uncomfortable.”
