
Bengaluru, June 3: The Karnataka government has made significant administrative changes, appointing retired IAS officer L.K. Ateeq as the financial advisor to the Chief Minister. According to a notification issued by the government, this appointment is effective immediately and will continue until further notice.
The government clarified that L.K. Ateeq will receive a salary and other allowances equivalent to that of the Chief Secretary. Additionally, he will continue to serve as the chairman of the Bengaluru Business Corridor until further orders.
Alongside this appointment, the state government has also announced transfers and new appointments for several senior IAS officers. Tushar Girinath (1993 batch), who was serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Urban Development Department, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister with immediate effect, replacing Anjum Parvez. He will also retain additional charge of the Urban Development Department.
Meanwhile, IAS officer Rajendra Cholan P. (2008 batch), who was previously serving as the Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister, has been appointed as the Secretary to the Chief Minister, taking over from Kaavari B.B.
The government has also assigned Rajendra Cholan P. an important role as the Managing Director of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), relieving Gaurav Gupta of this additional responsibility.
These changes in the Chief Minister’s office and the administrative structure are seen as significant steps towards making the new government’s functioning more effective and robust.
