
New Delhi: The Kashmere Gate Metro Police along with the Metro Special Staff successfully solved a jewellery bag theft case that occurred on January 22. The stolen bag containing gold and jewellery valued at nearly ₹20 lakh was recovered in its entirety from Noida.
The incident was reported under FIR number 04/2026 at the Kashmere Gate Metro Police Station, registered under section 303 BNS for the jewellery bag theft.

During the investigation, CCTV footage from Chandni Chowk Metro Station was closely examined. The footage revealed a woman wearing a pink jacket and black pants boarding the metro train carrying the jewellery bag, heading towards Millennium City Centre.
Further review of internal CCTV footage from Barakhamba Metro Station showed the woman reaching Noida Sector-52 Metro Station and exiting through gate number 2. Through combined technical and manual efforts, the accused was identified as Heena, a first-year BSc student. She stated that she had gone shopping at Chandni Chowk market for a cousin’s wedding with her family.

It was found that Heena took the complainant’s bag home without informing anyone. The jewellery bag, containing gold and other valuables worth approximately ₹20 lakh, was recovered. The accused had no prior criminal record.
Based on the investigation and the accused’s statements, appropriate legal action was taken in accordance with the law.

The prompt action of the Kashmere Gate Metro Police and Special Staff, along with the thorough analysis of CCTV footage and coordinated efforts, was appreciated by the Delhi Police. Their swift response led to the successful resolution of the case and the recovery of the stolen valuables.
