Michael Jackson Honored in Bollywood: Memories of His 1996 India Tour Resurface

Mumbai, April 25: In the world of entertainment, some names transcend time, and one such name is Michael Jackson. Recently, a special event was held in Mumbai, reviving the historic moment from 1996 when Michael Jackson first visited India.

Following the event, a special screening of a film about Michael was showcased. Many Bollywood celebrities expressed their admiration for Jackson in interviews with news agencies, sharing personal memories associated with him.

Actor Neel Nitin Mukesh found this moment particularly special. He recalled being one of the lucky children when Jackson visited Mumbai during his ‘History World Tour’ in 1996.

Neel stated, “I still vividly remember that time. My father took me, my sister, and about 20 close friends there. Coming back here with my daughter after so many years feels like a ‘circle of life’ moment. I was a child then, and now as a father, I am showing his legacy to the next generation.”

He further mentioned that a two-and-a-half-hour film cannot do justice to a personality as great as Michael Jackson. “Michael’s story is so vast that it deserves multiple films,” he added.

Singer Asees Kaur commented on the film, stating that Michael is a polar star in the music world, and reaching his level of brilliance is a dream for any artist. “Michael Jackson was not just a singer; he was a legend. Achieving that level of stardom today is nearly impossible. If anyone in India can come close to Michael Jackson’s dance style, it would be Hrithik Roshan,” she said.

Actress Soundarya Sharma praised the Wizcraft team for bringing Michael Jackson to India in 1996, setting a new benchmark in the arts. She referenced Michael’s iconic dance move, the ‘moonwalk,’ stating that he transformed dance into an art form never seen before.

Soundarya also acknowledged the contributions of Indian dancers, remembering the impact of Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit. According to her, there can never be another Michael Jackson.
