Poonch, March 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted multiple raids early Thursday morning in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, as part of an investigation into terrorist activities and funding. Local police assisted in the operation.
According to sources, the search operation targeted several premises allegedly linked to individuals involved in terrorist activities and funding networks. Official sources indicated that these raids are part of an ongoing investigation into financial support for active terrorist organizations in the region.
NIA teams, with the help of local police and security forces, aimed to gather evidence related to financial transactions, communication records, and other pertinent materials. The operation took place at various locations across the district. Investigators are examining documents, digital devices, and other items suspected to be connected to terrorist funding activities.
The NIA and local administration remain proactive in preventing terrorist activities and are taking necessary actions. Previously, on February 2, the NIA had conducted search operations in Srinagar, Sopore, Bandipora, and Baramulla related to an ISIA-linked terrorist conspiracy. The team searched the premises of jailed associates and suspects. On February 3, the NIA also raided a suspect’s home connected to a non-governmental organization in the Rainawari area of Srinagar.
On March 4, army personnel thwarted an infiltration attempt in the Bhimber Gali sector of Poonch district. The White Knight Corps, based in Nagrota, acted on intelligence inputs and continuous surveillance, detecting terrorist movement near the Line of Control. Alert soldiers swiftly responded, effectively foiling the infiltration attempt through coordinated ground action.
