Noida Police from Sector-39 police station have cracked a vehicle theft gang involved in stealing tyres and batteries from four-wheelers. Three accused, including a history-sheeter, were arrested in the operation. Authorities recovered six stolen tyres with rims, two batteries, tools used for theft, illegal weapons, and a WagonR car used in the crime.
The action took place on Thursday near Som Bazaar Cut in Sector-39 area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Vishal Sharma alias Dhola, aged 28, resident of Sadar Pur Sector-45 Noida; Vishal Tyagi alias Akku, aged 26, resident of Gejha village, Phase-2 Noida; and Upendra Pathak, aged 28, resident of Nabipur Khediya village, Narora police station area, Bulandshahr district.
Police recovered six tyres with rims, two batteries, a large wire cutter, a jack, two spanners, the WagonR car used in the offence, two illegal handguns, and one illegal knife from their possession. The handguns were seized from Vishal Sharma and Vishal Tyagi, while the knife was found with Upendra Pathak.
A separate case has been registered at Sector-39 police station regarding the recovered batteries. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed that they targeted parked four-wheelers in residential areas during the night to steal tyres and batteries, which they then sold in Delhi.
Police reports reveal that Vishal Sharma, alias Dhola, is a history-sheeter with over 21 criminal cases registered against him, including robbery, attempted murder, theft, illegal weapons possession, NDPS violations, and excise law offences. The other two accused, Vishal Tyagi alias Akku and Upendra Pathak, also have multiple cases registered against them in various police stations related to assault, theft, Arms Act violations, and excise laws.
Police officials believe this arrest will help curb vehicle theft incidents in the area. Investigations are ongoing to identify the gang’s network, buyers of stolen goods, and connections to previous crimes. Further legal action is underway.
