Pakistani Drone Sighted in Samba, Search Operation Underway

Jammu, March 14: A comprehensive search operation has been launched in the forward areas of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir following the incursion of a Pakistani drone across the international border. Authorities reported that the drone was observed over several villages in the Ramgarh sector, including Kandral, Abtal, and Bahadurpur, for a few minutes late Friday night.

Officials stated, “After the Pakistani drone entered Indian territory, security forces initiated a widespread search operation in multiple forward villages of Samba district. The area is under strict surveillance, and a major search operation was commenced during the day to prevent the smuggling of weapons or narcotics across the border.”

The Indian Army is deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir Valley, covering districts such as Kupwara, Bandipora, and Baramulla, as well as parts of Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu districts. The Border Security Force (BSF) is stationed at the international border, particularly in Samba, Kathua, and Jammu districts.

To counter infiltration, evacuations, drug trafficking, and drone activities from the Pakistani side of the border, both the Army and BSF have been deployed. Terrorist organizations, with the assistance of Pakistan’s ISI, have been using drones to drop weapons, ammunition, drugs, and cash to promote terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Payloads carried by these drones are picked up by the ground workers of terrorist organizations and subsequently delivered to terrorists. The Indian Army and BSF have established specialized anti-drone equipment along the LoC and international border. Following the installation of these advanced anti-drone systems, incidents of drone incursions in Jammu and Kashmir have decreased.
