PM Fails to Fulfill Promises: Pratibha Singh

Shimla, March 24: Pratibha Singh, the former Congress president of Himachal Pradesh, has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not fulfilling promises made during the 2022 assembly elections. She also criticized BJP MPs for failing to raise the issues faced by Himachal in Parliament.

In a recent conversation, Singh stated, “During the 2022 assembly elections, Prime Minister Modi made several announcements while addressing a rally in Mandi. He claimed to be a son of Himachal and said that the state is his second home, promising to provide all possible assistance. After the Congress government was formed, I reminded the Prime Minister of his promises regarding the issues in Himachal, but he ignored my concerns. It seems he has forgotten his words, as a significant amount of time has passed.”

Singh expressed her disappointment over the lack of support from the central government during a recent disaster in the state, which resulted in the loss of many lives and damage across various regions. She mentioned that she wrote to the MPs representing Himachal in the Centre, offering to meet with the Prime Minister alongside them, but received no response. “If BJP MPs truly wanted to, they could have raised these issues in front of the central government, but they did not. The revenue deficit grant for Himachal has been halted by the Centre, and the Chief Minister has repeatedly brought this issue to their attention,” she added.

She further criticized BJP leaders in Himachal, stating that they merely claim that help is being provided from the Centre, while in reality, the state has received nothing on the ground. “During times of disaster, politics should be set aside, and efforts should be made for the welfare of the state, but the BJP has failed to do so,” Singh concluded.
