PM Modi Pays Tribute to Shri Shri Harichand Thakur on Matua Dharma Mela

New Delhi, March 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to devotees and participants across the country on the occasion of the Matua Dharma Mela. He paid homage to the revered Shri Shri Harichand Thakur, stating that his teachings continue to inspire millions today.

In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Heartfelt wishes to all devotees and participants of the Matua Dharma Mela. This special occasion is linked to the birth anniversary of Shri Shri Harichand Thakur. I humbly bow to him. His thoughts and teachings still provide strength and hope to many. He initiated a powerful movement for dignity, equality, and devotion, inspiring generations to walk the path of faith, harmony, and collective upliftment.”

He further emphasized, “The rich and vibrant traditions of Matua culture reflect an unwavering commitment to deep spiritual strength and equality. It enriches the social fabric of our nation. For the past decade, our government has been dedicated to the welfare, empowerment, and dignity of the Matua community.”

On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his wishes to the Matua community. In a post on X, he stated, “On the auspicious occasion of the 215th birth anniversary of Shri Shri Harichand Thakur, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all my brothers and sisters of the Matua community during the Matua Dharma Mela.”

He added, “A divine soul, Thakur Ji delved deep into our knowledge, unearthing invaluable gems of devotion, equality, and moral living that remain guiding principles for us today. I hope that the Matua Dharma Mela 2026, held in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, will further strengthen our commitment to these principles.”
