PM Modi Slams Congress Over False Narratives on Films

Tiruvalla, April 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the Congress party and opposition factions during a significant NDA rally held in Tiruvalla, Kerala, on Saturday. He accused Congress and its allied parties of being adept at spreading falsehoods and misleading the nation.

Specifically, PM Modi targeted three films—‘Dhurrandar’, ‘The Kerala Story’, and ‘The Kashmir Files’—alleging that the opposition has propagated false narratives surrounding them. He stated, “When ‘The Kerala Story’ was released, they claimed it was all lies. When ‘The Kashmir Files’ came out, they said the same. And now with ‘Dhurrandar’, they continue to spread falsehoods.”

He emphasized that Congress and its allies lie about every issue, claiming, “Their only job is to spread lies. They are running a business of misinformation, whether it’s about the CAA, UCC, or these films.”

Citing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as an example, PM Modi noted that when the law was introduced, the opposition attempted to instill fear in the public. However, he asserted that the CAA has been implemented without causing any harm to the country. He also mentioned that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been in effect in Goa for decades without any issues.

During the rally, the Prime Minister remarked that the opposition opposes every good initiative and spreads lies about them. He urged the audience to recognize the truth behind these films and the falsehoods propagated by the opposition, appealing for an end to their misleading tactics.

‘Dhurrandar: The Revenge’ is a film based on national security and military operations, showcasing strong nationalism. ‘The Kashmir Files’ depicts the true story of the exodus and violence faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s, while ‘The Kerala Story’ narrates the experiences of women from Kerala who were recruited by extremist organizations. All three films faced severe criticism from Congress and some opposition parties post-release.
