Police Encounter in Khurja: One Cow Slaughter Accused Injured, Another Arrested

Bulandshahr police engaged in an encounter with two suspects in the Khurja area late last night. During the operation, one accused was injured and the other was arrested. Both are currently being questioned as police investigate further details related to the case.

The incident occurred near Jhamka on Pahasu Road when the Khurja police team was conducting vehicle checks. Two suspicious men on a motorcycle were signalled to stop, but instead opened fire on the police. The police responded in self-defence. In the ensuing exchange, one accused named Nadeem was shot and injured, while his partner Huzaifa attempted to flee.

A combing operation was launched in the area and Huzaifa was apprehended shortly afterwards. Nadeem was immediately taken to hospital for treatment. Preliminary interrogation revealed that both men admitted involvement in cow slaughter incidents. They confessed to the killing of cattle whose remains were found two days ago in the Khurja area, a case already registered with the local police station.

Khurja Circle Officer Shobhit Kumar stated that the accused were roaming near mango orchards on Pahasu Road with the intention of cow slaughter. When confronted by police, they fired with the intent to kill, forcing police to take action.

Police recovered an illegal pistol, live cartridges, a motorcycle, rope, and a knife from the accused, indicating possible preparation for a major crime. Further legal proceedings are underway.
