Mumbai, February 8: Actress Renuka Shahane is thrilled about the release of her upcoming film ‘Uttar’. In the film, she plays the character Uma, which holds special significance for her. She describes Uma as a character embodying patience, deep love, and an unspoken hope, who remains positive even in tough times.
The film narrates a sensitive story of a mother-son relationship, highlighting generational gaps and emotional silence in today’s fast-paced life. ‘Uttar’ focuses on love, connection, forgiveness, and the beauty of relationships.
Discussing her character, Shahane portrays Uma as a mother whose unique approach keeps the family united. In contrast, her son Ninad is progressing in life but is inadvertently drifting away from home. The film illustrates how relationships often fray not through conflict, but through the waiting for the right time, words, and moments.
Renuka Shahane expressed, “Playing Uma was an emotional experience. Her silence speaks more than her words. I am happy that ‘Uttar’ is now ready to reach a wider audience, allowing them to deeply feel its emotions.”
Director Kshitij Patwardhan shared, “This film is crafted with a special story to resonate with audiences. It is gentle, unresolved, and profoundly human. We discuss moments we tend to postpone, thinking there is still time. With the digital premiere, viewers will connect with the film. We hope it becomes a personal and memorable story, leaving a lasting impression on the audience’s hearts.”
According to the makers, the film is based on everyday truths, capturing those delicate moments when time slips away and life poses questions we are unprepared for. Crafted with sensitivity and genuine emotions, this story compels viewers to reflect on relationships they assume will wait for them.
‘Uttar’ is written and directed by Kshitij Patwardhan and produced by ZEE Studios and Jackpot Entertainment. The film will stream on the ZEE5 platform starting February 13, featuring other key actors alongside Renuka Shahane.
