Roar of leopards will be heard from Dholpur to Rawatbhata

Dholpur : Efforts to build Cheetah Corridor have started in Rajasthan. Cheetah corridor will be built in 400 km forest area from Dholpur to Rawatbhata. For this, a joint meeting of forest department officials of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh has been called in Ranthambore, Sawai Madhopur. District Forest Officer Chetan Kumar said that the state government has given the green signal to the Cheetah Corridor Project as per the budget announcement. Efforts are being made to implement the Cheetah Landscape Project after talks with the Madhya Pradesh government. The meeting of forest department officials of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will be jointly organized in Ranthambore. Under this meeting, the habitat, conservation and upkeep of cheetahs will be discussed. The decision on Joint Memorandum of Under Standing (MOU) will be taken under the direction of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Government.

District Forest Officer Chetan Kumar said that for the joint meeting to be held in Ranthambore, Conservator of Forests Pawan Upadhyay and Rajesh Kumar Gupta Wildlife along with officials of Madhya Pradesh Forest Department will attend. Cheetahs will be settled in the forest area of ​​400 kilometers from Dholpur to Rawatbhata. At present there is movement of 4 to 5 leopards in Dang area of ​​Dholpur district. One of them is female. The movement of three cubs has also been captured in the cameras of the forest department. Apart from this, about a dozen panthers, about 10 bears including jackals, hyenas, jackals, foxes, pythons etc. are roaming in the Dang area of ​​the district. The state government has already declared Dholpur district as a century area. There is daily movement of tiger, panther and other wild animals in the Dang area from Dholpur to Karauli. He said that the creation of Cheetah Landscape will increase the number of wildlife. This will also promote tourism.
