Robber Arrested in Farrukhabad Encounter, Head Constable Injured

Farrukhabad, March 19: An encounter between police and a robbery suspect occurred in Farrukhabad district late Wednesday night. The suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while a head constable was injured in the hand. The injured robber has been admitted to Lohia Hospital for treatment.

According to police reports, on March 13, a woman was robbed of her earrings in the Kayamganj police station area, during which she was also injured. A case was registered against the accused, Kuldeep, a resident of Kasganj, who had been on the run since the incident.

Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh stated that after the robbery on March 13, Kuldeep was apprehended and brought to the police station. When police took him to the location he indicated for the recovery of the stolen earrings, he had hidden a .315 bore pistol. Attempting to escape, he fired two rounds at the police, injuring Head Constable Ravindra Tiwari in the hand.

In response, police fired back, hitting the suspect in the leg, causing him to fall and be immediately arrested. The stolen earrings were also recovered at the scene. Both the head constable and the injured robber were sent for medical treatment, with the latter being referred to Lohia Hospital for further care.

In a related incident, a police team from Wave City, Ghaziabad, also arrested a wanted robber following an encounter. The injured suspect was taken to the hospital after being shot by police. Stolen items, including a motorcycle, a pistol, and two cartridges, were recovered from the possession of the robber named Love.
