Robbery at Darbhanga Jewelry Shop Raises Law and Order Concerns

Udaipur, April 3: A significant robbery incident occurred on Friday afternoon at a jewelry shop in Darbhanga, Bihar, where armed robbers executed a heist at gunpoint, making off with valuables worth crores. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Senior police officials have asserted that they will resolve the case swiftly. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has once again raised questions about the government’s handling of law and order following the Darbhanga incident.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Yadav stated that armed criminals brazenly entered a gold trader’s shop during the day, threatening customers and escaping with gold and silver jewelry. He highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar, emphasizing that no one—be it traders, common citizens, or women—feels safe under the NDA government. He criticized the BJP and JD(U) for being preoccupied with their internal politics while criminals operate freely.

Manoj Thakur, a gold and silver trader, reported that the robbery took place around 3 PM, with armed assailants using abusive language and instilling fear among the people present. He estimated the loss to be between one and two crores, as the robbers made off with various jewelry items.

Upon receiving news of the incident, local police, along with senior Bihar police officials, arrived at the scene to investigate. Authorities believe that CCTV footage from nearby cameras will aid in apprehending the culprits soon. However, the incident has left the local community in a state of fear, with many traders feeling particularly vulnerable.
