Mumbai, February 7: Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC has commended the India-US trade agreement while also criticizing Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant for his controversial remarks.
In response to the trade deal, Shaina NC stated that Prime Minister Modi deserves congratulations for his belief in dialogue and ensuring India’s success. She emphasized that this trade agreement represents a significant victory for India, strengthening imports, exports, and the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Shaina expressed confidence that India will witness many more successful agreements in the future.
She also praised the achievements of the youth, highlighting the talents of 19-year-old girls, women, and the Indian cricket team, stating that India’s prowess is shining globally. Shaina acknowledged that these victories come after considerable struggle and extended congratulations to all the youth and their families.
Addressing Arvind Sawant’s previous controversial statement, Shaina NC took a firm stance, asserting that every woman entering politics faces significant challenges, and such derogatory language reflects the DNA of UBT. She noted that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has always respected women and ensured their safety.
Shaina condemned the use of offensive language against women as extremely shameful, stating that merely apologizing afterward does not resolve the issue. She advocated for strict punishment in such cases to set a societal example. She pointed out that when an MP disrespects a woman, it negatively impacts ordinary citizens, urging such individuals to reflect on their actions.
Shaina NC revealed that her father and Balasaheb Thackeray were close friends, and Balasaheb always regarded her as a daughter. She remarked that if Balasaheb were alive today, he would have reprimanded Arvind Sawant for his comments, emphasizing that it does not align with Shiv Sena’s core values.
