New Delhi, March 15: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta warned on Sunday that strict action will be taken against any individual or organization spreading misinformation or rumors regarding the shortage of LPG in the city.
She urged citizens to disregard such rumors, stating that despite the ongoing conflict in Iran affecting the global fuel supply chain, there are sufficient fuel reserves to meet public demand.
Speaking to reporters during an event, the Chief Minister emphasized that spreading rumors and creating panic among the public is inappropriate. She assured that both the central and state governments are closely monitoring the situation and that there is no need for citizens to panic.
Gupta noted that some individuals are unnecessarily trying to instill fear and promote hoarding, which is against national interest. She further stated that the government is keeping a close watch on such activities and will take action against those spreading rumors.
Earlier, the Chief Minister attended the 12th anniversary and silver jubilee celebrations of the Apna Ghar Ashram in Budhpur. She remarked that organizations like Apna Ghar Ashram become a beacon of hope for those who find themselves separated from their families and society for various reasons.
The Chief Minister highlighted that this organization not only provides shelter to such individuals but also ensures essential facilities like medical care, food, clothing, and proper care, helping them lead a dignified life.
Rekha Gupta mentioned that over the past 26 years, Apna Ghar Ashram has built an extensive network of services. Today, it operates more than 70 centers across India, with its services gradually expanding abroad. She described the organization as a true symbol of humanity and compassion.
