Tamil Nadu Crime Surge Highlights DMK Government’s Law and Order Failure: Vijay

Chennai, January 29: Vijay, leader of Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), has sharply criticised the DMK government, accusing it of complete failure in maintaining law and order across Tamil Nadu.

In a strongly worded post on his Facebook page, Vijay highlighted the continuous rise in crimes throughout the state as clear evidence of administrative breakdown. He pointed out that even the capital city Chennai has been shaken by a series of violent incidents, especially crimes targeting women.

Vijay referred to recent shocking cases that have left Tamil Nadu in a state of shock. Among these, he mentioned the brutal murder of a migrant worker from Bihar, employed as a security guard in Adyar, along with his wife and child. He also cited the sexual harassment of a young woman working in the canteen of a government college in Nandanam. Describing these incidents as deeply disturbing and painful, he stressed the need for strong condemnation.

According to Vijay, the prevailing atmosphere in Tamil Nadu has made ordinary citizens feel unsafe. He accused the current DMK government of failing not only to protect the residents but also the migrant workers who come to the state seeking livelihoods. He asserted that neither locals nor migrant labourers are secure anymore.

Vijay further charged the ruling party with focusing solely on corruption and self-interest, neglecting its primary duty to uphold law and order. He claimed the government has shown no seriousness in curbing crimes against women and children, which is reflected in the rising cases of sexual violence even within educational institutions.

He also accused the administration of adopting a lenient and indifferent attitude towards criminals instead of enforcing swift and strict punishments. Vijay warned that this approach is encouraging antisocial elements to commit more heinous crimes. He added that public perception is that the government lacks the will to take decisive action against offenders.

Demanding immediate action, Vijay called for prompt punishment of those involved in such crimes without any delay.
