Kota : Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will inspect the new rail security system ‘Kavach’ in Kota today. This inspection will be from Sawai Madhopur to Indragarh Sumerganj Mandi station. During this, he himself will test this system by boarding the engine. Its purpose is to further improve the speed and safety of trains. General Manager of West Central Railway Shobhana Bandopadhyay and many senior officials of Kota Division will also be present on this occasion. Under the ‘Mission Raftar’ of Railways, the speed of trains on the Nagda-Mathura rail line is being increased to 160 km per hour. For this, 545 km of track is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 2665.14 crore.
Important contribution of ‘Kavach’ system

The ‘Kavach’ system has an important contribution in this. This system will help in preventing accidents caused by signal ignorance and human errors. Kota Division of West Central Railway successfully tested the ‘Kavach’ system on 108 km on Kota-Sawai Madhopur section on September 16, 2024. This is the most advanced version of Automatic Train Protection System (ATP) developed in India. West Central Railway has created a new record by installing the fourth version of ‘Kavach’ on a 108 km track in the shortest time. This will further improve the safety and efficiency of the railways. It is a matter of pride for Indian Railways that Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav did the loco trial of the ‘Kavach’ system. During this, several tests will be conducted on Sawai Madhopur-Indargarh Sumerganj Mandi section (36 km).

These tests will be done on the train

– Checking of automatic horn sounding at level crossing gates.
– Checking of working of ‘Kavach’ system at speeds above prescribed speed limit.
– Testing the ability of the train to stop in case of crossing a red signal.
– Monitoring of permanent speed restrictions.
– Testing of speed control on loop line.
– Continuous display of all signals on the ‘Kavach’ screen fitted in the engine.
– This test will help in testing the capabilities of the ‘Kavach’ system and further strengthen the security of Indian Railways.
