Western Sydney University Campus to Open Soon in Greater Noida

Noida, March 16: Greater Noida is set to achieve a significant milestone in promoting international higher education with the upcoming establishment of the first campus of Western Sydney University from Australia. The university has submitted performance guarantee documents to the Greater Noida Authority, which is expected to expedite the campus opening process.

On Monday, representatives from Western Sydney University handed over these documents to the Greater Noida Authority during an event held at Max Tower in Sector 16B, Noida. Present at the event were the university’s Property and Commercial Officer, Marion Johns, along with her team, and officials from the authority, including OSD Gunja Singh and Senior Manager Ajit Bhai Patel.

According to reports, the university has leased three floors—sixth, seventh, and eighth—of Tower-2 located within the Greater Noida Authority complex for an annual rent of approximately ₹8.6 million. This space will be developed into the university’s campus.

University representatives indicated that preparations for the campus will commence soon, aiming to start academic activities within this year. The establishment of this campus will help position Greater Noida as a global education and innovation hub, further strengthening Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of making Uttar Pradesh a key destination for international educational institutions.

Under the leadership of CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar, the authority is providing all possible support to expedite this project. According to university representatives, the campus will promote world-class education and research in areas such as sustainability, water management, agriculture, artificial intelligence, and business innovation.

Special emphasis will be placed on industry-related courses and research programs to prepare students in line with modern technology and industry needs. In the first phase, the university plans to introduce courses in business analytics, marketing, data science, sustainable water futures, and agriculture. The second phase will see the launch of new academic programs related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and supply chain management.

The authority’s ACEO, Soumya Srivastava, stated that the opening of Western Sydney University’s campus is a testament to Greater Noida’s emergence as a preferred location for global institutions in the education sector. This will not only strengthen the academic environment of the city but also create new opportunities in technology, manufacturing, and innovation.

He added that the arrival of an international university will provide local youth with the opportunity to receive world-class education in their own city, helping them develop skills that align with industry needs.
