Yogi Government Announces Strict Measures to Curb Fuel and Gold Consumption

Lucknow, May 12: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued comprehensive directives aimed at promoting self-reliance and stringent austerity measures. He has urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to support Prime Minister Modi’s national call for resource conservation.

In a high-level meeting held in Lucknow with top administrative and police officials, the Chief Minister announced an immediate 50% reduction in the vehicle fleets of himself, state ministers, and other dignitaries, while ordering the removal of all non-essential vehicles from official convoys.

This appeal from the Chief Minister extends beyond the government, calling on state residents to reduce fuel consumption and avoid unnecessary purchases of gold. Highlighting the instability in global affairs, he emphasized the need for collective caution and financial discipline in the current situation.

As an example, he suggested that all public representatives, including Members of Parliament and State Assembly members, should use public transport at least once a week.

To modernize administrative operations, the Chief Minister has prioritized a work-from-home culture. Industrial establishments and large startups have been encouraged to adopt a two-day work-from-home arrangement each week.

Additionally, at least 50% of government meetings, seminars, and workshops in state secretariats and directorates should now be conducted online to reduce energy costs.

The state government is focusing on natural gas (PNG), metro rail services, and electric vehicles to lower energy expenses. Furthermore, the Chief Minister has launched the ‘Visit My State’ campaign to promote domestic tourism and destination weddings in Uttar Pradesh, leveraging the state’s rich heritage and eco-friendly tourist spots.
