Nagpur, February 6: Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defense and Aerospace, emphasized the crucial role of Vidarbha in India‘s energy narrative during the ‘Advantage Vidarbha 2026’ event on Friday. He stated that the Adani Group’s presence in the region goes beyond mere transactions, aiming for a legacy that spans generations.
Adani highlighted the group’s commitment to building Energy Security, creating high-quality jobs, empowering communities, and strengthening India‘s economic foundation. He noted that their investments align with three national priorities: enabling a clean and reliable energy future for India, developing an integrated industrial and logistics ecosystem, and facilitating inclusive growth for communities and youth.
In his address, he mentioned the operation of Maharashtra’s largest and most advanced 3,300 megawatt supercritical power plant in Tiroda, designed to meet the highest global standards of efficiency and environmental responsibility. He also pointed out the revival of the 600 megawatt Butibori power plant in 2025, showcasing their commitment to addressing stressed assets and enhancing India’s power infrastructure.
Through a 25-year supply agreement, the Adani Group is now ensuring a reliable supply of 6,600 megawatts of power for Maharashtra, combining solar production from Khawda with robust thermal baseload supply, which serves as a backbone for the state’s industries, cities, and digital economy.
Additionally, one of their transformative commitments includes a ₹70,000 crore integrated coal gasification and downstream derivatives complex in Kalmeshwar, which is expected to create 30,000 direct jobs, enhance advanced chemical manufacturing capabilities, and promote energy self-sufficiency for critical industries, firmly placing Nagpur on the global map for clean energy technologies.
In the aviation and defense sector, the acquisition of Indamer Techniques Private Limited has expanded their 30-acre MRO complex in MIHAN. With 15 aircraft bays and integration with the global network of Air Works, Nagpur is rapidly emerging as an international hub for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
The Adani Foundation is also active in Gondia and Nagpur, supporting primary healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment through 43 self-help groups, the Fortune Suposhit nutrition program, and initiatives in solar lighting, clean water, sports, and school development.
Jeet Adani concluded by stating, “I see Vidarbha not just as a region of Maharashtra, but as a place that will help define India’s growth story in the coming decades.”
