Anurag Kashyaps Kennedy Set for G5 Premiere on February 20

Mumbai, February 8: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s much-anticipated film ‘Kennedy’ is all set to premiere on G5 on February 20. The trailer, which has already been released, showcases a gripping narrative filled with themes of violence, pain, and the struggle for liberation. Actor Rahul Bhatt, who plays the lead role, shared insights about his character and the transformative experience of portraying Kennedy.

The trailer offers a glimpse into a profound story, immersing viewers in a world filled with silence, rage, and the fight for survival. Bhatt described his character, Kennedy, as a lonely and angry individual grappling with inner weakness and constantly fleeing from his past. “Living in his silence and anger is both exhausting and enlightening,” he noted. “Seeing the audience’s connection has boosted my confidence. I eagerly await the moment when viewers will witness Kennedy’s pain, his journey, and his quest for freedom.”

Set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s underworld, the film follows Kennedy Uday Shetty (played by Bhatt), a former police officer turned contract killer. Living a double life as a cab driver, he is embroiled in a web of violence orchestrated by a corrupt police commissioner, Rashid Khan. As he deals with the loss of his son and the agony of a fractured family, Kennedy finds himself confronting his past in a city that brings forth old demons. The narrative unfolds through bomb blasts, extortion rackets, and the machinations of powerful figures, leading to a violent pursuit of truth, revenge, and freedom.

The film promises high-octane action and striking visuals. Anurag Kashyap expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “‘Kennedy’ is one of my most special films. The journey has been long, but the reactions from festivals have reassured us of our decisions. The trailer introduces you to Kennedy’s world, a man who appears violent on the outside but is deeply wounded within. I am thrilled that G5 is bringing it to audiences without any cuts.”

Sunny Leone also spoke about her character, Charlie, stating, “‘Kennedy’ has challenged me as an actor, taking me to a very different emotional space. Charlie is mysterious, delicate, and strong. Working with Anurag taught me to trust in silence. This experience has been both challenging and fulfilling. I can’t wait for the audience to explore this dark yet beautiful world.”

The film features notable performances from Mohit Takalkar, Megha Barman, Aamir Dalvi, Abhilash, and Karishma Modi in significant roles. ‘Kennedy’ is set to premiere on G5 on February 20.
