Tel Aviv, March 7: The conflict in West Asia has entered its eighth day, escalating tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran. During this period, Israel has launched a new wave of attacks, while reports of explosions have emerged from a major commercial airport in Tehran.
The confrontation began with an attack in Tehran on February 28 and has gradually expanded. Initially limited to airstrikes and retaliatory actions, it has now evolved into a larger conflict, including drone attacks in the Gulf region.
Former President Donald Trump has taken a hard stance on the crisis, stating that no deal will be made with Iran until it surrenders unconditionally. He also suggested that Iran should move towards choosing new leadership that would be acceptable to his administration.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti military reported that its air defense systems intercepted several incoming threats. Since Saturday morning, multiple waves of attacks have resulted in the downing of 12 Iranian drones and 14 ballistic or cruise missiles. The sounds of these interceptions were heard across various parts of the country, although officials indicated that only minor property damage occurred due to debris from the missiles.
In related developments, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed residents in northern Israel that they could come out of bomb shelters, as the recent Iranian ballistic missile launch did not pose a direct threat to the area, and no warning sirens were activated. However, the Israeli military later issued a new alert for residents of Tel Aviv, large parts of central Israel, and the West Bank, having detected another missile launch from Iran, raising concerns of further escalation in the already volatile regional conflict.
