Say Goodbye to Stress and Anxiety with Regular Trikonasana Practice

New Delhi, March 14: In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy body is a common aspiration, yet often challenging due to busy schedules. Trikonasana, or the Triangle Pose, is a yoga asana that can be performed in a short time and offers numerous benefits.

Regular practice of this asana enhances muscle flexibility and improves blood circulation. Daily exercises require the body to stretch to the right and left, increasing the activation of the back, arms, and leg muscles.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Trikonasana helps make the body flexible, balanced, and strong. It also aids digestion and strengthens the muscles of the waist and thighs.

To perform Trikonasana, spread both feet 3 to 4 feet apart on a yoga mat. Turn the right foot outward at a 90-degree angle and slightly bend the left foot inward. Extend both arms at shoulder height with palms facing down. Gradually lean to the right, attempting to touch the right foot or ankle with the right hand while keeping the left arm straight up. Hold this position for 20 to 30 seconds, maintaining normal breathing. Then, gently return to Tadasana and repeat the process on the left side.

During this pose, the arms, legs, and spine form a triangle, which helps reduce stress. However, caution is advised for individuals with conditions like slipped discs or sciatica.

Regular practice of Trikonasana helps control weight, reduces stress and anxiety, and enhances balance and concentration. It also boosts the body’s energy levels, though practitioners are advised to take necessary precautions.
