Actor Rajendra Apologizes for Comment on M.G. Ramachandran

Hyderabad, March 14: Actor Rajendra Prasad, who faced criticism for his recent remarks about the late M.G. Ramachandran, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has issued an apology to his fans. Vishal, the secretary of the South Indian Artists Association (SIAA), stated that acknowledging one’s mistake is significant.

In a video posted on Instagram, Vishal expressed gratitude towards Rajendra Prasad for his heartfelt apology. He remarked, “Rajendra Prasad Sir realized his mistake and apologized immediately, which is a very big and sensitive step.”

In the video, Vishal addressed Rajendra Prasad, saying, “Hello Rajendra Prasad Sir. On behalf of the South Indian Artists Association and millions of M.G.R. fans, thank you. Our feelings were hurt, which is why we requested an apology. Mistakes happen, but you have shown sensitivity by acknowledging your error. We appreciate your understanding. If anyone speaks ill of you in the future, we will certainly condemn it.”

He noted that many senior individuals were hurt by Rajendra Prasad’s comments, but the apology has brought relief to everyone. Vishal added, “Many fans still consider M.G.R. to be alive. Understanding their feelings is a significant contribution on your part.”

It is noteworthy that during an event in Hyderabad, Rajendra Prasad made a humorous remark while praising veteran actor Kanta Rao, which was deemed disrespectful by M.G.R. fans, leading to outrage in Tamil Nadu. As the situation escalated, Rajendra Prasad released a video sincerely apologizing for his comments.

During the apology, he stated, “I, actor Rajendra Prasad, request forgiveness from all of you. At that event, Kanta Rao Sir was being honored. While joking about him, an unintended word slipped from my mouth. I have great respect for him. He was the Chief Minister when I studied at the Madras Film Institute and would come to meet us. I could never think ill of him. If my words hurt anyone’s feelings, please forgive me. I promise this will not happen again. Let’s put this matter to rest.”
