New Delhi, March 15: The Indian Embassy has released a new advisory in response to the escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. This situation is significantly impacting the education of students residing in these countries. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular on March 15, 2026, regarding the Class 12 board examinations for students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The advisory from the Indian Embassy in Oman stated, “This follows the circulars dated March 1, March 3, March 5, March 7, and March 9, 2026. Based on inputs and appeals from schools and authorities in the affected countries, a review of the possibility of conducting the Class 12 board exams has been undertaken.”
Furthermore, the advisory mentioned, “The board has decided to cancel all Class 12 examinations scheduled between March 10 and March 16 for students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Additionally, exams that were postponed due to the earlier circulars will also be canceled. The method for declaring results for Class 12 students in these countries will be communicated separately in due course.”
Previously, the embassy had indicated that new dates for the postponed exams would be announced later, and that the CBSE would review the situation on March 10 to make informed decisions regarding the exams starting on March 12.
Earlier, the Indian Embassy in Oman had informed that the Class 12 board exams scheduled for March 9, 10, and 11 in the affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE had been postponed due to the Iran-Israel conflict.
