Ramallah, March 15: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that Israeli special forces opened fire on a vehicle in the West Bank town of Tamun on Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of four Palestinians, including two children.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, the Red Crescent stated that its crew retrieved the bodies of the four victims from the vehicle that came under fire. Local sources indicated that all the deceased were members of the same family. It was reported that the Israeli forces were pursuing two young men when they fired at the passing car. The Israeli military has not yet commented on the incident.
Israeli forces frequently conduct raids in Tamun and the nearby Tubas area, which Israel describes as counter-terrorism operations. The Red Crescent reported that Ali and Waed Odeh, along with two of their four children, were shot in the head, while the other two surviving children sustained minor injuries.
The Israeli military claimed that the car approached them at high speed, prompting the gunfire. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to the United Nations, 18 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the beginning of 2026, including eight from Israeli settlements. Despite a ceasefire in October, Israel has continued occasional airstrikes and drone attacks in Gaza. Palestinian figures indicate that approximately 660 people have been killed and over 1,700 injured in Gaza since the ceasefire.
Overall, since the attacks on October 7, 2023, more than 72,200 people have been killed and 171,800 injured in Gaza.
