Light Rain and Snow Expected in Jammu and Kashmir Until March 20

Srinagar, March 19: Light rain is currently falling in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, maintaining a chill in the weather. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the weather is likely to remain unstable in the Kashmir Valley for the next two days due to the influence of persistent western disturbances.

According to the department, over March 19 and 20, the region will generally be cloudy, with intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall expected at various locations. Moderate to heavy snowfall may occur in some higher areas of the Chenab Valley and southern Kashmir.

From March 21 to 25, the weather is expected to be generally dry. However, from March 26 to 28, the region will again be mostly cloudy, with sporadic light rain and snowfall (in higher areas) possible.

The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for the general public and tourists, recommending that those traveling to higher areas and significant passes plan their journeys according to the weather conditions on March 19 and 20.

The department has also forecasted the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds (40-50 km/h) at some locations during this period, along with the potential for hail in isolated areas. Farmers have been advised to postpone all agricultural activities.

Meanwhile, Ramban has experienced continuous rain over the past two days, leading to a drop in temperature. Similarly, light rain in Baramulla has resulted in a decrease in temperature, with rain expected to continue throughout the afternoon. The sky will remain overcast, and the winds will be light and variable, with a 100% chance of rain.

In the Delhi-NCR region, the weather also changed abruptly on Wednesday, with light rain accompanied by strong winds. Light rain was reported at several places on Thursday morning.
