Opposition Lacks Mission and Vision: Shahzad Poonawala

New Delhi, March 22: Shahzad Poonawala, the national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), criticized the Indi alliance, stating that it is a grand coalition lacking any clear objective, merely based on confusion, internal discord, and a desire for positions. He remarked, “What kind of alliance is the Indi alliance—there is no mission or vision. It is filled with confusion, division, and a thirst for power.”

Referring to a controversial case linked to the Warehouse Corporation in Punjab, Poonawala made serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leadership. He claimed that the Transport Minister is accused of threatening a district manager to illegally secure a tender for an associate. When the official refused, he faced harassment, including physical assault, ultimately leading him to take his own life.

Poonawala asserted that in a suicide video, the official directly blamed the minister, which he termed a “dying declaration” and an “open-and-shut case.” He alleged that instead of taking action, there are attempts to suppress the matter, citing connections involving Arvind Kejriwal, AAP, and other leaders.

Targeting the budget of Himachal Pradesh, Poonawala also mocked Rahul Gandhi‘s “Khatakhat model.” He claimed that wherever Congress has formed a government, the economic situation has deteriorated—be it Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, or Karnataka.

He accused the Himachal Pradesh government of poor budget management, stating that budget allocations have been reduced and salaries for some officials have been cut by up to 50 percent. Additionally, he claimed that state employees went nearly six months without pay, and the government has failed to fulfill its guarantees, with inflation rising further.
