Mumbai, March 22: Actress Kalki Koechlin, known for her versatile roles across various film genres, has expressed that consistently working in the horror genre poses significant challenges, particularly for the nervous system. In a recent conversation, she shared her experiences working on horror projects and discussed her upcoming web series ‘Anarth,’ which is set to stream soon on Prime Video.
Koechlin revealed that maintaining the emotional intensity required for her character in ‘Anarth’ has been quite demanding. “The horror genre has been very challenging for the nervous system, especially in ‘Anarth.’ My character carries a sense of unease and sadness, which was not easy to sustain over two months of shooting,” she stated.
She elaborated on the mental and emotional pressure involved, as it is essential to bring depth and a terrifying energy to horror characters. Koechlin praised her team, stating, “Everyone worked together to create a fantastic world for this series. Viewers should be prepared, as this show will keep you awake at night.”
Previously, she starred in the horror show ‘Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery,’ where she played the character ‘Irena.’ Koechlin noted that while Irena was a fictional character, Gaurav Tiwari and the Indian Paranormal Society are real, allowing her some creative freedom in her portrayal.
She highlighted the unique aspect of the show, saying, “What I liked most is how the story oscillates between the past and the present. You don’t just see the investigation; you feel how history, memories, and unresolved questions continue to impact us today.”
