Trump Hints at Stability in Middle East with Iran Deal

Washington, March 24: President Donald Trump stated on Monday that ongoing negotiations with Iran could bring long-term stability to the Middle East, a region crucial for global energy supply and home to millions of migrants.

During a press interaction in Florida, Trump mentioned that strong discussions are taking place between the United States and Iran, suggesting they are close to a potential agreement. He noted that nearly all points of consensus have been included in the discussions, which could soon lead to a deal.

Trump indicated that both parties are assessing progress within a five-day period. However, he warned that military action could continue if negotiations fail. “If all goes well, we will resolve it; otherwise, we will continue bombing,” he stated.

Reiterating that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons, Trump emphasized the need for no uranium enrichment and regional peace. He expressed a desire for stability in the Middle East, suggesting that the agreement would benefit countries like Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

He also revealed that the current round of talks was initiated by Iran, stating, “They called me; I did not call them. They want to make a deal.” Trump mentioned that under any agreement, the U.S. could take control of Iran’s enriched uranium. “If we reach an agreement, we will go and take it under our control,” he added.

Discussing Iran’s situation, Trump noted that many leadership groups have been eliminated in the early stages of the conflict, and those remaining represent the country. He expressed uncertainty about the outcome, saying, “I am not guaranteeing anything. I am just saying we are in a real possibility of reaching an agreement.”

On oil markets, Trump suggested that the global impact of the deal could be immediate, predicting a rapid decline in oil prices once an agreement is reached.

Additionally, Trump addressed domestic issues, including the deployment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at U.S. airports. He blamed Democrats for federal shutdowns and immigration policies, asserting that these issues arose due to their actions.

He praised ICE agents as high-level individuals doing good work and defended previous attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, claiming they significantly delayed Iran’s nuclear program. “If we hadn’t attacked, they would have had nuclear weapons within two to four weeks,” he concluded.
