Government Takes Cautious Steps Amid Global Crisis: Sudhanshu Trivedi

New Delhi, March 27: In light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Indian government has announced a reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel. BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi praised this decision, stating that the government makes choices with caution, vigilance, and sensitivity.

During a media interaction in New Delhi, Trivedi highlighted the alarming global situation due to the war in the Middle East, noting significant price increases in energy and petroleum products worldwide. He mentioned that South Asia and Southeast Asia have seen price hikes ranging from 30% to 50%, while the United States has experienced increases of 20% to 30%, Europe 20%, and African countries up to 50%.

Trivedi emphasized that in this era of globalization, it is impossible for India to remain unaffected. However, under Prime Minister Modi‘s leadership, the government has taken this decision with utmost care to ensure that the burden does not fall on the common people. As a result, two significant measures have been implemented: higher taxes on petroleum product exports and a reduction in excise duty. This decision reflects the government’s sensitivity towards the public.

He further stated that in these extremely adverse circumstances, the government is working systematically and sensitively to safeguard the interests of the Indian populace.

While appreciating the government’s decision, Trivedi noted that today marks Ram Navami, and he believes that PM Modi has drawn inspiration from the ideals of Lord Ram, as depicted by Tulsidas in the Ramcharitmanas.

Responding to questions from the opposition, Trivedi reminded them that they are not just in opposition but also hold power in several states. The Congress party is currently governing in Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, and he urged them to work as Team India in these challenging times.
