Adani Ports Achieves Historic 500 Million Ton Cargo Milestone

Ahmedabad, April 1: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) announced on Wednesday that it has crossed a historic milestone of handling 500 million tons of cargo.

Founded in 1998 with a vision for port development, the company now operates a network of 19 ports and terminals across India and internationally. APSEZ plays a crucial role in enhancing India’s trade, industrial growth, and global competitiveness.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, stated, “Ports are not just gateways for trade; they are also doors to a nation’s confidence, competitiveness, and future. I am grateful to our customers, partners, and every member of the APSEZ family whose dedication and trust have made this achievement possible.”

He also expressed gratitude to the central and state governments for their commitment to policies and infrastructure that have laid a strong foundation for APSEZ.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and reflects the strength of infrastructure-based development in India. It is not just a number but a story of building a robust and modern logistics platform.

Gautam Adani emphasized that crossing the 500 million ton mark showcases the company’s long-standing commitment to India’s development journey. He noted that APSEZ has not only built ports but also established a strong logistics system with rail, road, trucking, warehousing, and cargo networks.

The journey to reach 500 million tons has been remarkable. The company took 16 years to reach its first 100 million tons, but subsequent milestones were achieved at an accelerated pace, demonstrating the company’s growing capacity and efficiency.

With this achievement, APSEZ is rapidly moving towards its next major goal of handling 1 billion tons of cargo by 2030. The company currently operates 15 major ports and terminals along India’s western, southern, and eastern coasts, along with a marine fleet of 127 vessels, 12 multi-modal logistics parks, 3.1 million square feet of warehousing, and a network of over 25,000 trucks.

APSEZ aims to contribute significantly to India’s economic progress by providing world-class infrastructure and services in the future.
