Panaji, April 1: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant submitted his self-enumeration for the 2027 census on Wednesday. With this, Goa has joined the nationwide initiative aimed at creating accurate and comprehensive data.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the census is not merely a numbers game but a strong foundation for the development of the country and the state. According to him, without accurate data, it becomes challenging for any government to formulate effective plans. This data will subsequently aid in enhancing infrastructure, healthcare services, education, and government schemes.
Pramod Sawant noted that when the government possesses accurate information, it can better understand the needs of the people and make decisions accordingly. This not only accelerates development but also ensures that benefits reach every section of society.
He urged citizens to actively participate in this process and utilize the self-enumeration facility available until April 15. He stated that the participation of every citizen is crucial, as future policies and plans will be based on this data.
The Chief Minister explained that this process is not solely the government’s responsibility; every citizen has an equal role to play. When people come forward with accurate information, it strengthens the entire system and reduces the chances of incorrect or incomplete data.
He clarified that the data obtained through the census helps the government determine the needs of various sectors, whether it involves building roads, opening hospitals, or increasing the number of schools and colleges.
