
Varanasi, April 4: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the state-wide ‘School Chalo’ campaign from Varanasi on Saturday, emphasizing the government’s commitment to basic education. He stated that education is the true strength of the future.
During the event at the Composite School in Shivpur, the atmosphere was filled with excitement as the Chief Minister interacted with children, personally handing them school bags and distributing books. He honored five ‘Nipun Vidyarthis’ and provided educational materials to students from various classes. The Chief Minister also released a booklet highlighting educational innovations and achievements for the new academic session 2026-27.
Yogi Adityanath remarked that education is not merely about degrees but is a means to make individuals better human beings. He presented certificates to the principals of five ‘Nipun Vidyalayas’ as a token of recognition. In his address, he noted that before 2017, the education system was neglected and plagued by malpractice, but now a transparent and quality education environment has been established in the state. He mentioned that the state government is spending over 80,000 crore rupees on school education, aiming to provide better opportunities for every child.
He described teachers as the backbone of the education system, stating that their dedication has led to the success of initiatives like ‘Operation Kayakalp’ and transformed the landscape of schools. The Chief Minister appealed to all sections of society to join the ‘School Chalo’ campaign and help ensure every child reaches school. During the program, he also appreciated the exhibition set up by the children and praised their projects, further boosting their enthusiasm.
Basic Education Minister (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh explained the significance of the ‘School Chalo’ campaign, which aims to connect every child aged 6 to 14 years with quality education and brighten their future. The minister highlighted the reforms made in basic education schools in Uttar Pradesh over the past nine years.
