Excitement in Sikkim as PM Modi Begins Visit

Gangtok, April 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Sikkim for a two-day visit. On Sunday, he held a grand mega roadshow in Gangtok, transforming the entire city into a massive celebration venue.

In an interview, Bimal Kumar Rai, president of the Akhil Kirt Rai Sangh, expressed enthusiasm about the visit, stating, “We are very excited and hope that he will bless us again tomorrow. We are delighted to welcome the Prime Minister of India. We have been advocating for a tribal system in the state, which we have already presented to the Sikkim government. We hope that the Sikkim government will raise this demand before the Prime Minister, and I am confident that he will give us the opportunity to speak.”

Bimal Kumar noted, “In the past 50 years, Sikkim has made remarkable progress in economic, social, and educational development. We have gained many intellectual resources. Everything, from the behavior of the people living in the state to the overall lifestyle, has changed. Our city has achieved the status of a free state. There has been a significant transformation in the standard of living in this state over these 50 years.”

K.G. Namgyal, president of the Lal Bazaar Youth Development Committee, thanked the local leaders for their support, saying, “We are very happy that our Prime Minister is coming to Sikkim, and we hope he will address our many issues as soon as possible. We are facing challenges with roads, infrastructure, electricity, and water supply. There is also an LPG crisis. Therefore, we hope these issues will be resolved soon.”

Namgyal added, “As the Prime Minister of India, we have high expectations from him. We hope he will do good work for Sikkim. We are looking forward to this. Sikkim is celebrating 50 years this year.”
