Bihar CM Samrat Chaudhary Heads to Delhi for Cabinet Expansion Talks

New Delhi, May 2: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has departed from Patna to New Delhi to participate in a series of crucial meetings with the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

During his visit, CM Chaudhary is expected to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Naveen, and BJP Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde. Discussions in these meetings are likely to focus on the expansion of the cabinet in Bihar.

Sources indicate that during his conversation with Amit Shah, there may be deliberations on the list of ministers for the cabinet expansion. Additionally, discussions with senior party leaders are expected to center around political strategies and organizational matters in the state.

It is anticipated that CM Chaudhary will return to Patna on Sunday after concluding his meetings in Delhi. Earlier, he met former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence on Circular Road in Patna, describing the interaction on social media platform X as cordial and expressing inspiration from Kumar’s experience and guidance.

This meeting has intensified political speculation in Bihar, with strong indications that a cabinet expansion may occur soon. Chaudhary’s trip to Delhi is believed to be directly linked to these developments.

Notably, Nitish Kumar resigned from the Chief Minister’s position on April 14, after which Samrat Chaudhary took oath as the new Chief Minister of Bihar. Alongside him, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav also took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.

Currently, due to the lack of a cabinet expansion, the Chief Minister is managing 29 departments, while Vijay Kumar Chaudhary oversees 10 departments and Bijendra Prasad Yadav manages 8 departments. This cabinet expansion is expected to alleviate administrative burdens and provide opportunities for more leaders to participate in governance.

Earlier in the day, CM Samrat Chaudhary visited JP Ganga Path, also known as Patna’s Marine Drive, to review proposed sites for the extension of this route to Buxar.
