BJP Celebrates Historic Win with Fish Festival in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 10: Following the historic victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal and the formation of a new government, a grand ‘Fish Festival’ was organized in Kolkata on Sunday. Minister Dilip Ghosh attended the event hosted by the BJP’s OBC Morcha to celebrate this significant win.

During a media interaction, Ghosh targeted former Chief Minister and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee. Accompanying him was BJP MLA Tapas Ray, and the event saw a large turnout of local residents, fish traders, fishery-related businesses, and BJP workers.

Ghosh stated that Mamata Banerjee had spread falsehoods about the BJP’s intentions regarding fish consumption, claiming that the party would ban fish and rice. He emphasized that the identity of Bengal’s fish is at stake, and they were present at the festival to celebrate it.

He further criticized Banerjee’s government for hindering the fish trade in Bengal, asserting that the BJP would prioritize fish farming now that they are in power. Ghosh pointed out that fish production in Bengal is low, leading to imports from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. He questioned why the people of Bengal, who consume fish and rice, do not have adequate local production.

He assured that the BJP would ensure the people of Bengal have access to fish and rice. Ghosh also mentioned that industrialists are eager to invest in the state, and the new government aims to create a conducive environment for business, providing opportunities for all.
