Mumbai, May 22: Renowned Tamil film director Pandiraj is making headlines with his upcoming film ‘Parimala and Company.’ The film is set to be a blend of comedy, thriller, and family drama. In a recent conversation, Pandiraj revealed that the film’s inception was sparked by a challenge.
Pandiraj shared, “During the lockdown, my assistant director Ashwin suggested I watch a web series on an OTT platform. He believed that the story would inspire me to think of something new. After watching the series, a fresh idea struck me, and I told my assistant to write a similar story within a week.”
He continued, “My assistant challenged me, saying if it was that easy, I should prove it by writing one. I accepted the challenge and began writing. Gradually, I transformed just an idea into a complete script, adding several new scenes along the way.”
Pandiraj mentioned that to make the story more engaging, he incorporated elements of dark comedy, which he found quite thrilling, and the narrative evolved into something unique. Once the script was completed, he set it aside for a while. During this time, director Jagan and his assistant Divya read the script, both of whom loved the story and decided to make a film out of it.
‘Parimala and Company’ marks Pandiraj’s twelfth film and is being described as a thriller-comedy. The story begins in Chennai and extends to cities like Coimbatore and Palakkad.
The film will feature Jayaram and Urvashi in lead roles, along with Santosh Shobhan and Sanjana Krishnamurthy in significant parts. To add a comedic touch, the popular actor Yogi Babu has also been given an important role. Additionally, director Mishkin will be seen portraying a police officer in the film.
