Suniel Shetty Advocates Sports for Youth at Khasdar Sports Festival

Nagpur, May 31: Actor Suniel Shetty attended the inauguration of the ‘Khasdar Sports Festival’ held in Nagpur on Sunday. During the event, he emphasized the importance of sports among youth, stating that engaging in sports not only enhances fitness and health but also plays a crucial role in keeping young people away from drugs and other harmful habits.

The grand event will take place from May 31 to June 7. Alongside Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Shetty highlighted the need to promote sports among children and youth. He remarked that if children are focused on sports, they will naturally steer clear of negative influences.

Expressing concern over the rising issue of drug abuse among youth, Shetty said, “Sports, health, wellness, and education are the best solutions.” He cited Nagpur as an example, noting that millions of children actively participate in sports. When children are engaged in sports, there is no room for negative distractions. Reflecting on his own life, he shared, “Everything good that has happened in my life is due to my passion for sports. Even today, people appreciate me for my fitness and health, which is a result of my love for sports.”

Shetty urged parents to encourage their children to participate in sports, stating that such large-scale events are essential to convey the right message to the public. “I believe there is nothing better than sports for better health,” he added.

He praised Nagpur for having over 50 sports in which children are actively involved, calling it a positive development. He stressed the need for similar events across the country to ensure that the younger generation remains healthy and positive. Thousands of athletes showcasing their talents in over 18 sports are participating in this festival.
