Vaibhav Suryavanshi Named IPL 2026 Most Valuable Player

Ahmedabad, May 31: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the opening batsman for Rajasthan Royals (RR), has been awarded the title of ‘Most Valuable Player’ for IPL 2026. In addition to this prestigious accolade, he also received the ‘Orange Cap’ for scoring 776 runs during the season.

After the conclusion of IPL 2026, Vaibhav expressed his feelings, stating, “I feel good, but I am under pressure as I have to give interviews. You cannot play every match the same way. If I want to avoid injuries, I need to work on my fitness. Everyone has been very supportive, including senior players and the support staff, and the atmosphere here is excellent.”

While Vaibhav secured the ‘Orange Cap’, Kagiso Rabada claimed the ‘Purple Cap’ for taking 29 wickets this season. The Punjab Kings were awarded the ‘Fair Play Award’, and Manish Pandey received the ‘Catch of the Season’ award for his stunning catch to dismiss Tim David at backward point. Mohammad Siraj was recognized for bowling the most dot balls (172) in the season.

Sai Sudharsan was awarded for hitting the most fours (75) this season. Vaibhav Suryavanshi also received accolades for ‘Emerging Player of the Season’, ‘Super Striker of the Season’ (237.3), and ‘Super Sixes of the Season’ (72).

The final match of IPL 2026 was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Royal Challengers Bangalore triumphed over Gujarat Titans by five wickets. Batting first, Gujarat Titans scored 155 runs after losing 8 wickets, with Washington Sundar contributing an unbeaten 50 runs. In response, RCB chased down the target in 18 overs, with Virat Kohli scoring an impressive 75 runs off 42 balls.
