Quetta, January 12. The Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), an alliance of pro-independence armed groups in Balochistan, has claimed responsibility for 174 attacks on Pakistani Security Forces throughout 2025. The group asserts that these operations resulted in the deaths of 167 military and intelligence personnel, according to local media reports.
The BRAS further stated that 95 Pakistani security officials were injured during these attacks. In its latest infographic report for 2025, the group revealed that its fighters captured 26 individuals, including members of the Pakistani intelligence services.
As per reports from The Balochistan Post, the BRAS conducted 35 bombings, 14 raids, and 35 siege and search operations. They targeted 15 infrastructures, destroyed 30 Pakistani government and military vehicles, and seized 51 weapons.
In a significant operation in August 2025, the BRAS claimed that its fighters held control over the city of Khuzdar for more than a month. The group reported capturing a large number of vehicles, weapons, and military equipment, asserting that their fighters patrolled areas under their control and addressed the public from open platforms. Recently, armed groups associated with the BRAS released their annual operational report for 2025.
According to a report by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), its fighters conducted 521 attacks last year, resulting in the deaths of over 1,060 Pakistani military personnel and injuries to more than 556 others. The BLA reported extensive damage to vehicles, quadcopters, surveillance towers, and military bases, along with the seizure of 208 weapons.
The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) also stated that it was responsible for 581 armed attacks against Pakistani security forces in Balochistan during 2025, resulting in 929 fatalities, including 647 security personnel, and 282 injuries.
In its annual operational report from January to December 2025, the BLF emphasized that these operations inflicted substantial losses on Pakistani security forces. In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwaharum Baloch praised the group’s achievements in what he termed a “decisive and extraordinary year.”
Additionally, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) reported conducting 88 attacks across various provinces in Pakistan, including Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab, targeting railway tracks, checkpoints, police posts, gas pipelines, and communication towers. This resulted in 22 fatalities and 35 injuries.
Balochistan continues to be affected by the Pakistani administration’s dismal approach, with locals accusing military forces of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and unlawful detentions aided by death squads.
