New Delhi, May 14: In today’s fast-paced life, experiencing fatigue and lethargy is quite common. Irregular routines, poor diet, lack of sleep, and prolonged sitting can lead to a gradual decline in energy levels, affecting mental clarity as well. In such scenarios, the Ministry of AYUSH recommends practicing yoga, with Matsyasana being one of the most effective postures to combat fatigue and sluggishness.
Matsyasana, or Fish Pose, opens up the chest and enhances the capacity for deep breathing. This increase in oxygen intake helps purify and energize the blood, allowing oxygen to reach tired cells throughout the body. As the body receives adequate oxygen, feelings of heaviness and lethargy begin to diminish.
Additionally, this asana stretches the spine backward, relieving pressure on the nerves. The nervous system surrounding the spine regulates the body’s energy. When this area relaxes, the mind also finds peace, reducing mental fatigue.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Matsyasana activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps the body relax. When this system is engaged, heart rates normalize, and stress levels decrease.
This posture also improves digestion, ensuring that food is processed effectively and the body receives sufficient nutrition. With proper nourishment, weakness and fatigue naturally lessen. Furthermore, Matsyasana enhances blood circulation, providing energy to every part of the body.
Matsyasana is known to alleviate stress, anxiety, and mental pressure. A calm mind positively impacts the body, making individuals feel more energetic. Regular practice of this asana can also improve sleep quality.
