India U-19 Team Wins World Cup with Stellar Performance

Samastipur, February 6: The atmosphere in Bihar turned festive as India’s Under-19 cricket team clinched the World Cup by defeating England by 100 runs. Star batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 175 runs off just 80 balls in the final match. His grandfather, Upendra Prasad Singh, expressed immense pride, stating that they anticipated Vaibhav would shine in the final, but he exceeded expectations like a cyclone.

In an interview from Samastipur, Singh shared, “This is a moment of great joy. Vaibhav played exceptionally well. Although he missed out on a double century, his performance was outstanding.”

He further praised Vaibhav’s batting, saying, “What could be better? We have always believed he would excel in the final.”

Singh highlighted the significance of a 15-year-old performing at such a high level, noting, “Even though he didn’t score a double century, he managed to hit 175 runs in just 80 balls. With better support from his teammates, he could have performed even better.”

Reflecting on the senior Indian cricket team, Singh mentioned that Vaibhav should soon be part of it. “He is ready to break into the Indian jersey, and that door will open very soon, likely after March,” he said.

He also recalled a former cricketer’s commentary, who remarked on Vaibhav’s ability to hit sixes over 100 meters, stating, “What could be more impressive? It’s a matter of great pride. Vaibhav hails from a rural background and is now reaching the pinnacle of success. We are all extremely happy about his achievements.”
